With a lack of assignments (seeing as how I'm done with college... forever. Goodness!) I've decided to continue along my path of "lets draw based on photos you've taken!" to elude boredom. One of my fave homeboys, Dec, taken at a live performance about a month ago. He makes the most amazingly interesting facial expressions whilst singing, and I really need to work on facial expression and hands, so I figured why the hell not.
Arches Hot Press... why do I do this to myself? Challenge! I'm happy to say I'm getting better and better working with this paper, but it's always such a struggle. And I'm not too happy with Arches cold press as of late, so rrrraaaaarrr. Actually, I'm gonna shut up 'cos I had much much fun working on this piece. : )
approx. 9-10 hours with lots of dessert in between. size: 7" x 10" Watercolor on Arches Hot Press
"Lots of dessert in between"... (laughs) What's the difference between cold and hot press? It's related to the absorption of the wet paint? Nice light tones, acoustic guitars rules :-D
Your paintings are so amazing! I really wish I could leave a better comment to fully express just how awesome they are! I love the colors on his face, especially the lips and the nose .
