An illustration based on the musical RENT; based off the song with the same name. I mentioned it in a journal entry previously, but illustrating songs from specific musicals is a project I've wanted to do for a really long time now, and I'm glad I finally have the chance to do so. It's a challenge, but no complaints here. I was a little hesitant to post this up cuz I don't usually work in oils and my control is shaky... but hope you enjoy : )

Good old Mark (left) and Roger (right); roommates, artists... to keep warm in alphabet city, you gotta light up a mean blaze of posters and screenplays. All because, of course, you can't pay last year's rent...
